My name is Alain Phillips. I've been playing and composing music since I was around fourteen years old. Though I enjoy a wide range of musical styles, my real love is for music that tells a story. Because of this, I'm working towards a career in scoring for media such as film, television, and video games. Not only will this let me help bring other people's works to life, but it also gives me the chance to work with a variety of styles and genres.

I'm currently an undergraduate at Teesside University, working towards a BA in Digital Music Creation. I'm due to start my third and final year in October. Thanks to this course, I am acquainted with a range of widely-used music software, including Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason and Sibelius, and have experience working through the entire music production process, from conception, composition, recording, through to post-production and mastering. The vast majority of the work on this site was made using these tools.

At present, I'm working as part of a team to compose and realise music for the upcoming freeware RPG BroQuest, as well as a side-scrolling platformer/beat-em-up, currently under the working title "DnA", as part of my final year at University.
